The Giles County RideRiverRun Triathlon & Relay is a three-leg event (individual or relay) over a challenging yet beautiful area of Giles County, Virginia.
- The first leg is a 14.7 mile bicycle ride through paved, hilly, country roads from Eggleston through Pembroke and returning to Eggleston.
- The second leg is a 7 mile canoe segment on the New River from Eggleston to Pembroke.
- The third leg is a hilly 4.5 mile run from Pembroke back to Eggleston. This race can be done either by an individual (solo) or by a team consisting of up to 4 participants.
Location and Time:
Race Start – The race will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2009 from the Palisades Restaurant (168 Village St.). A mandatory pre-race meeting is 9:30 a.m. All participants must sign a waiver. Those under 18 must have a legal guardian sign the waiver. Waivers will be available at check-in.

RACE GUIDELINES
- Pre-race meeting is at 9:30 am and is MANDATORY.
- No more than 2 individuals to a boat.
- Life jackets for the canoe leg and helmets for the biking leg are required.
- If using a Kevlar canoe, you are automatically placed in the Advanced Category.
- Bikers’ and Runners’ courses overlap slightly. Colored arrows will determine which path is followed.
- Wristbands will be given to each team’s cyclist. Wristbands will be exchanged to team members on each leg of the race. The team runner must have the wristband when crossing the finish line.
- Exchanges must be completed within the exchange areas and must be made hand to hand.
- Transportation of equipment (water craft and bicycles) and race participants are the responsibility of participants.
- ALL participants must sign a waiver of liability. Minors must provide waivers signed by parents or guardians.

AWARDS
Awards Ceremony will be held at The Palisades Resturant immediately after the last racer finishes or at a resonable time if some racers are delayed. Awards will be given to:
- First, second, third overall teams (Advanced teams not eligible for overall prizes)
- First, second, third overall solos
- First in each category
Post-Race Events
